Inside the Tower, four rooms contain a remarkable collection of archaeological objects, prints and miniature reproductions, which reflect the height of courtly life in the castle as well as daily life in the medieval town.
The beautiful cobalt blue floor tiles attributed as being the first "blue of France" are especially worthy of observation.
168 steps lead to the top of the Tower where an unexpected panorama of the surrounding countryside spreads out before the visitor. In the far distance, Saint-Etienne Cathedral of Bourges, a UNESCO World Heritage Site can be seen.
The remains of the castle surrounding the tower reveal all the stages of the construction of this exceptional site from the original castle, to the elegant residence remodeled by Duke Jean de Berry in the fourteenth century to its tragic fate in the nineteenth century.
